Background
Establishment and Registration in Ethiopia (2020)
Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian national organization that was established in Addis Ababa in 2020. The organization was officially registered under the Agency for Civil Society Organizations with the registration number 5164. DPO was founded with the aim of addressing humanitarian and developmental needs in Ethiopia, providing assistance without discrimination based on race, color, religion, or cultural background.
Expansion into South Sudan
Following its establishment in Ethiopia, DPO expanded its reach beyond national borders and was registered as an international organization in the Republic of South Sudan. The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) issued the organization its registration number 4178, enabling it to carry out its mission to serve the vulnerable and marginalized populations in South Sudan.
Operations in Somalia and Ongoing Registration
In addition to its work in South Sudan, DPO has extended its operations to Somalia, where it is officially registered by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation. The organization received the reference number NGOD/Moifar0422/022 for its activities in the Federal Republic of Somalia. DPO is also in the process of securing official registration in the Republic of Kenya and Yemen, further broadening its scope and impact.
